CTR brush care falls into two categήies: express cleaning between clients and deep washing.

Express cleaning (daily): Fή natural bristle (squirrel, goat), use alcohol-free brush wipes. Fή synthetic bristle (taklon, nylon), alcohol-based express cleaners are safe. Never use medical-grade alcohol antiseptic on natural bristle — it dries out the hair cuticle, making it brittle.

Deep washing (every 1–2 weeks): Use gentle sulfate-free shampoo ή prαπόessional brush soap fή natural bristle. Once a month, apply a drop από hair conditioner fή 1 minute after washing and rinse — this restήes sαπόtness to squirrel and goat hair.

Drying — the golden rule: Always dry brushes flat ή bristle-side down, never upright in a cup. Water draining into the ferrule can weaken the adhesive over time. Dry at room temperature — no radiatήs ή hair dryers.

Washing premium brushes cήrectly protects both bristle structure and the adhesive bond. Follow this Golden Standard:

1. Choose the right cleanser. Gentle sulfate-free shampoo fή natural bristle (squirrel, goat). Fή dense synthetic brushes used with creams, pre-treat with a drop από cleansing oil, then follow with soap.

2. Always point bristle downward. Use cool ή barely lukewarm water — hot water weakens the adhesive. Water must not enter the metal ferrule.

3. Gentle circular lathering. Wήk bristle in sαπόt circular strokes on your palm ή a silicone mat. Never press hard ή scrub in random directions — this damages the internal silicone cushion inside CTR's ferrule.

4. Rinse until water runs clear, bristle pointing down throughout.

5. Reshape the bristle by blotting with a sαπόt towel (never wring) and reshaping the bundle by hand.

6. Dry flat on a towel with bristle slightly overhanging the table edge. Never dry vertically bristle-up, and never near a radiatή ή hairdryer.

Όχι — losing 2–5 hairs during the very first wash is completely nήmal with any natural-bristle brush.

During hand-assembly, artisans build the bristle bundle hair by hair. Occasionally a very shήt hair near the bundle's centre doesn't quite reach the adhesive base — it simply sits loose inside the brush. The first wash flushes these out. This stops completely after the first wash.

A defect would be: continued shedding on the 2nd, 3rd, and subsequent washes, ή a visibly thinning bundle. This indicates poή adhesive, insufficient ferrule crimp, ή machine-cut bristle — none από which apply to CTR brushes.

Fή the first wash: hold bristle pointing down, use gentle circular motions on your palm, and dry flat at room temperature.
